All assessments are completed according to National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) guidance, including a multidisciplinary approach, when required. Assessments can be completed through the medium of Welsh or English and at the pace that best suits the family.

Autism assessments can be a daunting process for many families and Dr Davies offers an opportunity to discuss the assessment process in detail, beforehand, to consider the advantages and disadvantages of undergoing assessment.

Dr Davies specialises in completing detailed autism and ADHD assessments and can also provide assessment and support for other difficulties that may, or may not, be associated with autism such as anxiety, sleep and behavioural outbursts

As part of the assessment process, the child/young person is seen within different contexts, and the assessment may involve looking at the child/young person’s level of ability and may also involve liaising with others services. Feedback is provided to the parent/carer throughout the assessment process.

Dr Davies is ADOS trained (Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule – ADOS). This is the gold standard assessment measure used in assessing autism. The ADOS assessment is completed together with an experienced Speech & Language Therapist, with no additional cost to the family.
